Tribes is proud to be associated with them.  Their travel company has won many awards for its responsible stance towards people and the environment, and Mandip's expertise in the field of ecotourism has led him to be chosen as a judge in prestigious international awards for responsible tourism.

    Mandip and Anita are a couple who are making a difference to the world of tourism by setting high standards in their involvement with India's environment and people.

     In 2005, Jo won the Responsible Travel award for “Outstanding Personal Contribution”. Jo and Robin Pope of Robin Pope Safaris in South Luangwa, run an excellent safari company which is rightly seen by many to be one of the best in Zambia. They also ensure that their staff are well-trained, back local schools and clinics, and have helped set up a local village tourism initiative (Kawaza Village).

    Future plans include helping get a secondary school going. Jo and Robin are committed to the area from which they earn their living, and their efforts on behalf of the region and its people are to be applauded.

    This is a perfect bush and beach destination in Tanzania. Nestled between the Indian Ocean and the Saadani bush in an old coconut plantation, the 8 tented bandas are elegantly perched on stilts individually spaced out along the pristine beach.

    Over the last 10 years, this lodge has backed countless development projects for the local villages, such as educational project for sanitation, an antenatal clinic, electricity for the dispensary, water, food relief, employment, and so on. They have also started a green turtle conservation project.
