Eastern Black Desert

The castles of Kharrana, Quseir Amra and Azraq sit in the vastness of Jordan's Eastern Black Desert off the main highway from Amman to Azraq.
Kalahari Desert

The Kalahari Desert is a large arid to semi-arid sandy area in southern Africa extending 900,000 km², covering much of Botswana and parts of Namibia and South Africa, as semi-desert, with huge tracts of excellent grazing after good rains.
Sahara Desert

Morocco has the closest 'real' sand dunes to Europe in the Sahara Desert region called the Erg Chebbi. There is also another region of the Saharan Desert in Morocco which is accessed from the southern town of Zagora.

The Thar Desert, also known as the Great Indian Desert, is a desert located in western India and southeastern Pakistan.
Wadi Rum

Wadi Rum is a spectacular area of desert flanked by steep cliffs. There are lots of hidden canyons or siqs within Rum, with some very remote and beautiful areas to explore.
