About Kigongoni Lodge

  • Close Panel
Kigongoni Lodge is about 20 minutes east of Arusha on a hillside site with great views of the surrounding countryside, including Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro when the clouds lift.

There are eighteen cottages, built in traditional African style and materials and each with a private verandah. There is also one family cottage with two rooms. All beds have mosquito netting.  The rooms, cocktail lounge and restaurant - all with fireplaces –are furnished in an intimate and comfortable manner, maximizing the site'’s unique views and natural features. The meals are prepared using organically-grown produce from their own garden where possible, and the food is of a high standard.

It has a great swimming pool, with loungers.

Fair Trade / Responsible Travel:

Kigongoni Lodge is an excellent example of how tourism can help local charities. Most of its profits go to Sibusiso, the neighbouring clinic for mentally disabled children and their parents. Additionally, Sibusiso regularly receives donations from Kigongoni guests who pay a visit to the foundation. Through Kigongoni, recurrent funding of Sibusiso is secured.

Pricing guidelines for Tanzania

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Tanzania can combine easily with other East African countries.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
