Nyala Lodge

Nyala Lodge is located in Lengwe National Park in the Lower Shire Valley. The lodge consists of 10 comfortable ensuite thatched chalets sleeping between 2 and 4 people. All chalets have ceiling fan and/or air conditioning and have hot water. Guests can enjoy meals on the restaurant's open deck overooking the bush where animals come to graze. There is a separate bar where sundowners can be enjoyed. There is also a swimming pool where guests can cool off. The shy Nyala antelope is a welcome guest around the lodge from time to time.

Activities include game drives, guided walking safaris and boat trips on the Shire River. As well as the Nyala Antelope, guests can hope to see kudu, impala, bush buck, buffalo and warthog. There are also over 300 species of birds resident in the region.

It is also possible to visit the local village of Ndakwera to enjoy traditional dancing and food. Guests are also encouraged to go to 'Tisunge!', the Lower Shire Heritage Centre, to learn more about the local culture. There is a small museum, arts and crafts shop and a library here. Other nearby destinations that can be visited are Majete Game Reserve, Kapichira Falls and Nyala Park.
