Hotel Mount Maluti

Hotel Mount Maluti is the oldest hotel in the south of Lesotho. It was built by Mr and Mrs A.F. Bothma in 1950 to serve the administrative and business community of Mohale's Hoek. After Lesotho's independence in 1966, the demand for conference and tourism facilities grew rapidly.

This is a lovely hotel and a welcome sight to any traveller, with its sparkling swimming pool and all weather tennis court - is an oasis in this peaceful mountain village.

The hotel is in a great location. Scenic, quiet and comfortable, it provides the tourist with everything needed for a weekend breakaway or a holiday base to explore the fascinating mountain countryside. 4 x 4 enthusiasts are especially attracted to the region with its mountains and off-road tracks.

The nearby castle rock can be climbed, or visit the cannibal caves. The southern Maluti Mountains can easily be explored during a day drive from the hotel. The ethnic lifestyle of the rural Basotho folk is interesting to observe. Explore the many trading stores, with all the interesting artefacts that they have for sale.

The hotel has 34 en suite bedrooms, all with radio, TV and heating. The spacious dining room offers wholesome home-cooked meals. The hotel is fully licensed and also has conference facilities.
