Porini Lion Camp

Lion Camp is located in the exclusive 20,000 acre Olare Orok Conservancy. This expansive conservancy, which borders the Masai Mara Game Reserve is home to an abundance of animals including the Big Cats for which the Mara is famous.
The Camp is situated along the banks of the Ntiakatiak River,
a seasonal river with some permanent hippo pools near the camp. With 10 luxury guest tents the camp is very exclusive and gives guests a real in the bush experience. The tents are very spacious and have private verandahs along the length of the tent, providing a secluded and private ‘space’ for guests to relax and enjoy the beauty of this African wilderness. Each tent has en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets and hot showers. Food is excellent with fresh baked bread and high quality meals prepared by the camp Chef.

Day and night game drives are available, using open-sided 4x4 vehicles. Maasai warriors escort guests on walks in the conservancy, giving information about how the indigenous animals and plants used by the community.

Viewpoints

The drivers, guides and staff at the two Porini camps were fantastic, their knowledge was top notch and their respect and attitude to the wildlife was exemplary. Everything was faultless! Food was stunning, accommodation very comfortable and transport superb.

Totally eco-friendly camp situated in a very relaxing location. The service provided by the staff was very attentive. Food was excellent and well prepared and presented.

It was great to have the Maasai as hosts and to knwo that a greater part of the finances were going back into their community for having shared their land with us. It was great to have hot showers and flushing toilets. We slept well despite the surrounding vociferous chorus of hippos, elephants and lions. We saw a spectacular wildebeest crossing of the Mara River, thanks to our guide and driver, as well as 4 leopards, 6 cheetah and 8 lions. Some unforgettable experiences.
