On a quiet stretch of one of Kenya’s most beautiful Indian Ocean beaches, stands a graceful, settler-built family holiday home – Diani House. This is one of the oldest houses on the Kenyan coast and although fitted with modern comforts still retains the original charm and style.
Cocooned in 12 acres of indigenous coastal forest, Diani House is an oasis away from the bustle of the resort. There are only 5 rooms (4 twins or doubles and one family cottage) sleeping up to twelve people. The food is gorgeous and freshly prepared, and dining is a very casual affair. Guests choose to eat either in the main house on the verandah or outside their rooms.
Diani House offers relaxed but attentive hospitality. Wildlife is often encountered in the garden, including Sykes’, Vervet and a rare sub-species of Colobus Monkey, baboons, Suni Antelope, bushbabies and monitor lizards. There is 250 metres of beach front on which to enjoy the beautiful white sands.
Many activities can be organized here. As well as the usual beach and watersport options, you can take day trips into the nearby Shimba Hills, or further afield to Mombasa or down to the Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park.
