Duration: 9 days
Day 1: Arrive in Amman. You will be met at the airport and taken to your hotel.
Day 2: You will be driven to the village of Dana where you will begin your trek. Hike downhill through the impressive gorge of Wadi Dana to Wadi Finan where you stay in at the eco-lodge or camp. (B, L, D)
Day 3: You will be able to see the Byzantine, Nabatean and pre-historic sites of Wadi Finan before hiking through the desert along the edge of the desert, camping overnight in a gorge at the edge of the mountains. (B, L, D)
Day 4: Your first day in the mountains, climbing high above the desert to cross a mountain pass before descending to a stream where you camp. (B, L, D)
Day 5: Follow an old Bedouin migration route that runs through the mountains, clinging to the steep slopes. At the end of the day, you will leave the mountains behind as you reach your campsite. (B, L, D)
Day 6: Enter a more populated area as you approach Petra where the Bedouin camp during the summer months. Your path winds through fields into the rocky hills before ending close to Little Petra where you camp. (B, L, D)
Day 7: After visiting little Petra, it is a couple of hours hike through the hills. Your path clings to dramatic cliffs as you reach your destination, arriving at the Monastry high above Petra. Spend the day exploring Petra before walking through the Siq to your hotel. (B, L, D)
Day 7: A short hike via Little Petra takes you to the Monastery in Petra, with the day to explore the city (B, L, D).
Day 8: Spend the morning exploring Petra, returning to Amman in the afternoon (B, D)
Day 9: Transfer to the airport for your flight home. (B).
