Located in the centre of India, Madhya Pradesh means Middle Province, and is famous for its national parks. Panna, Bandhavgarh, Kanha, Pench and Satpura National Park are the most famous of the parks within the state, and this is the best place in India for seeing tigers.
Although the state does not currently have an international airport, there are several domestic airports within the state and in neighbouring cities as well as a good rail network, making travel to and from Delhi and Mumbai fast and easy. The road network in Madhya Pradesh is not as well developed, and you do have to be prepared for some long drives on bumpy roads, although this is rewarded by beautiful scenery and friendly small towns and villages.
