Duration: 8 days

Day 1: Transfer to the airport and fly to San Cristobal Island. Visit the Galapagos Tortoise Breeding Centre and Junco Lake. (L)

Day 2: San Cristobal: Leon Dormido and Puerto Grande. (B, L, D)

Day 3: Speed boat transfer to Santa Cruz: Charles Darwin Centre and Tortuga Bay. (B, L)

Day 4: Santa Cruz: Highlands and Garapatero Beach. (B, L)

Day 5: Santa Cruz: Bay tour. Speed boat transfer to Isabela Island. (B, L)

Day 6: Isabela: Sierra Negro and Chico Volcanoes. (B, L)

Day 7: Isabela: Cape Rose and Galapagos Tortoise breeding centre. (B, L)

Day 8: Speed boat transfer to Santa Cruz and on to Baltra. Fly back to Quito. (B)

Pricing guidelines for Galapagos Islands

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights to Quito or Guayaquil will add from about £750 to £1000 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). You will also need internal flights from the mainland to the islands which cost about £275 to £350. A Galapagos National Park tax is payable on arrival - currently $100. A few yachts also offer shorter or longer cruises. Charter cruises are also available. Please ask for details.
