Plaza Grande is a luxurious hotel located opposite the Presidential Palace on Quito's Central Plaza, in the historical heart of the city. The building dates back to the 16th century and was the home of Juan Diaz de Hidalgo, one of the Spanish conquerors and founders of the city. This was one of the first hotels to open in Quito and has recently been extensively renovated. Accommodation comprises 11 Royal Suites, 3 Plaza View Suites and the Presidential Suite. All suites are air conditioned and have internet access, TV, minibar and jacuzzi. The hotel has a choice of 3 restaurants, each offering different cuisines. Other facilities include a gym, sauna and massage room.
