Iguazu Falls is wider than Victoria and higher than Niagara (and many people say more beautiful than both)! Situated on the border between Brazil and Argentina, the falls are made up of 275 separate waterfalls which occupy an area 3 miles wide and 80 metres high, flanked by lush rainforest.
During your visit you will spend a full day at the falls, visiting both the Brazilian and Argentinean side. You will have a chance to enjoy the panoramic views from the Brazilian side in the early morning when the light is at its best for photography, before embarking in jeep-towed wagons through the rainforest to the banks of the Iguazu River where your zodiacs will be waiting. From here, it a 4 mile journey up the river towards the Devil’s Throat Canyon and a mile of rapids –be prepared to get wet! In the afternoon cross the bridge to the Argentinean side of the falls for more panoramic views and an opportunity to explore the rainforest trails before returning across the border to watch the sunset.
The accommodation for this extension trip is at the 3* Hotel das Cataratas which is the only hotel on the Brazilian side inside Iguazu National Park. The hotel’s excellent location overlooking the falls enables the visitor to explore the Brazilian falls earlier and later than day trippers who stay outside the park.
