Northern Explorer

A classic combination of Moremi Game Resrve, the Okavango Delta, Savuti and Chobe National Park.  This is an excellent safari for anyone wanting to see these Botswanan highlights whilst camping in comparative luxury in the wilderness.  Victoria Falls can easily be added on.

This group tour runs on set departure dates both north and southbound.  The group size is a maximum of 9 and everyone has a 'window' seat.  The vehicle had a roof and open sides, comfy seats, storage for day bags, beanbags for camera rests, a cool box of drinks and facilities to charge camera batteries from the vehicle.

If you want to spend time at either end at Livingstone (Vic Falls) or maybe in the Pans / Kalahari area south of Maun, please ask us to add these in and give you a quote.

What is a mobile safari?  This is a personally guided small group camping trip run to a very high standard.  The camp / support team goes ahead and sets up and pulls down camp and you enjoy the freedom of game viewing and sight seeing with the guide.  All meals and drinks are included in the price and food is of a very high standard.  The campsites used are in private areas so you are the only group there. The mobile tented camps are comfortable and fully serviced, catering to our guests every need. This is a fantastic way to really immerse yourself in the bush - true safari life, on the move in rustic but comfortable camping style away from the trappings and stresses of modern life!

Guests are accommodated in spacious, walk-in wilderness safari tents with a private veranda and en-suite facilities. The tents are furnished with two stretcher beds, complete with a comfortable mattress, duvets and pillows, quality bed and bath linen, a bedside table, a coir mat and a battery powered lamp. The en-suite bathroom includes a dressing table, hand basin, hot water bucket shower, flush chemical toilet, bath linen and bathroom accessories.

The central guest area is an open area and is furnished with a dinning table and directors chairs as well as a bar. A limited laundry service is available to our guests on safari.

The safari vehicles used are custom built safari vehicles and designed to enhance game viewing, being both spacious and comfortable. Each guest is guaranteed a window seat for great views and photography. Our vehicles accommodate a maximum of 9 guests ensuring our guests exclusivity and personal attention.  There is a cool box plugged into the vehicle for cold drinks and you can charge camera batteries from the vehicle invertor system.

Your skilled safari team, namely a professional guide, camp manageress and staff with assist and accompany guests on safari. The guides are passionate about the bush and enjoy sharing their knowledge and experiences with others. These individuals draw on a lifetimes experience and will enlighten, fascinate and entertain the guests throughout their journey. The camp staff pay special attention to details which we believe make all the difference. These creative and resourceful individuals have a reputation for serving superb meals on safari, prepared in a basic bush kitchen, that are guaranteed to satisfy any appetite.  They provide hot water for your bucket showers.  Everything is shipped in and taken away from the camp, there are no permanent facilities in the camp sites used.

Comments

The Northern Explorer was excellent. Our guide was first class. He had infinite knowledge of his country and its wildlife. I have travelled on several dedicated wildlife trips to various countries but I am confident that this was the best.
A Muir

The guide's wildlife knowledge couldn't be faulted. His environmental concern couldn't be faulted either. His love for Botswana and for wildlife was truly infectious and added greatly to our overall experience. The food was excellent (far too good for my waistline considering the lack of real exercise. My friends and neighbours must be getting tired of me talking about the trip! It was really excellent and I can thoroughly recommend it.
M Nicholson

Shaffy Pandor, our guide was professional in every aspect of his position, his game sighting ability is astounding.
L Kling

Our main guide Steve Kgwatalala was superb - excellent company, professional, knowledgeable, the best we've ever had! The food was also particularly good.
B & M Lovett

Absolutely fabulous holiday. Meno-a-Kwena is an amazing place to lodge. Khwai is the place for wildlife and environment. The guides and the camp hands looked after the environment they worked in and the people they worked with.
