Best of Botswana

A luxury lodge safari using small, intimate camps and lodges of the highest standard and linking the falls to the wildlife of Northern Botswana.  This suggested itinerary can be done in reverse and is made on a tailor made basis, meaning you can pick any dates to suit you and add in or take out nights to suit - contact us for further quotes and amendments.

Ten nights to see the best areas of Botswana including a variety of habitats from the water worlds of the Okanvango and mokoro rides in the still channels and lagoons, to the vast open plains around the Chobe and Linyanti areas with their huge herds of elephants and buffalo.  The camps are of a very high standard with excellent guiding and attention to detail.

Itinerary

Start in Livingstone, end in Maun (can be run in reverse)

Day 1   You will be met on arrival at Livingstone airport and transfer to your luxury lodge on the banks of the Zambezi.  Relax and settle into your comfortable and unique house for two nights.

Day 2   A range of activities are included at Tongabezi, such as visiting Victoria Falls, local canoe trails, walks, village visits, etc.

Day 3   You will transfer by road to Botswana (about 1.5 hrs) and enjoy two nights at Chobe Chilwero, a luxury lodge on the edge of Chobe National Park.  Game viewing and boat cruise here.

Day 4   Game viewing in Chobe by vehicle and boat.  Optional extra spa treatments or fishing.

Day 5   You will transfer by light aircraft from Kasane west to the Linyanti swamps and floodplains area for two nights at the luxury Selinda Camp.  The wildlife around here is prolific and includes a good chance of seeing the rare African Wild Dogs.

Day 6   Game viewing from Selinda Camp.

Day 7   Light aircraft transfer south to Little Kwara, a rustic luxury camp on the side of a lagoon just north of the Moremi area, in the Kwando private concession.  Game viewing here includes drives, walks and boating.

Day 8   Game viewing in the Kwara area and enjoy Mokoro canoe rides.

Day 9   Light aircraft transfer to your last luxury camp for two nights, Baines Camp.  This lovely camp is on the edge of a lagoon area and set on stilts, having the unique chance to have your bed wheeled out onto the deck and sleep under the stars!

Day 10   Game viewing from Baines Camp in the Okavango area.

Day 11   Morning game viewing activity then light aircraft transfer back to Maun where you will be dropped at the airport for your onward arrangements.

Any time - peak Delta floods are usually July - August and best time for elephants in Chobe are around Sept - Oct. Hottest time Octover - December. Green season Jan - March, best for birding.

Getting there
