Chitabe Trails

Chitabe Trails camp is situated on one of the most beautiful islands in the Delta. Surrounded by ancient ebony, leadwood and sausage trees, Chitabe Trails has 5 spacious tents. Rather than being built on raised wooden decking (as at Chitabe main camp) the tents here are built on the ground. They all have an ensuite bathroom as well as an additional outdoor shower and a veranda with views of the floodplains. The tents are linked to the main area by a series of pathways. The dining room, lounge and bar areas are under canvas and have views out over the waterway in front of the camp. The camp also has a swimming pool. Chitabe Trails is located on the same island as Chitabe main camp, but they are run as separate camps, with their own managers and guides.

Chitabe Trails offers day and night game drives and guided walking safaris. For those guests who really want to experience the bush, the camp can arrange "sleep outs" at one or both of the hides on the concession. These hides are raised off the ground and guests sleep under mosquito nets and dine around the fire.

Highlights

  • Attractive and peaceful island location in the Delta.
